Architectural Porcelain

A collection of commercial grade porcelain wall and floor tiles specifically designed for areas subjected to high usage volumes.

Architectural Porcelain tiles are designed and manufactured to provide a high performance surface which can withstand elevated volumes of foot and machine traffic.

Porcelain tiles are fired at temperatures reaching 2000°C which results in a product with a high density and compression strength. When firing at this temperature, the moisture content of the tile is reduced to less than 0.5% which in turn increases the tiles resistance to frost attack, enabling porcelain tiles to be used as an external cladding for building facades.

High Surface Hardness

One of the inherent properties of a porcelain tile is its hardness. The high firing temperatures of the porcelain clay, vitrifies the tile, which practically eliminates the presence of moisture and pockets of air which in turn, makes the material incredibly dense and hard wearing and suitable for areas of high foot traffic volume.

Ideal For

• Shopping Centres
• Airports
• Bars/Restaurants

Stain Resistant

In many commercial and domestic situations, staining caused by surface contaminants can be a major issue. With Porcelain tiles having such a dense structure, contaminants will simply sit on the surface and will not be absorbed into the tile, leaving the tile free from staining once the contaminant has been removed.

Ideal For

• Factories
• Commercial Kitchens
• Laboratories
• Bars/Restaurants
• Shopping Centres

Very Low Water Absorption

Porcelain’s low moisture absorption qualities means that the tile is practically impenetrable to water, resulting in a tile that is free from “Freeze - Thaw Action”. This makes the tiles suitable for use in areas of low temperature and also external applications, such as façade cladding or paving.

Ideal For

• External Cladding
• External Paving
• Internal Chilled Environments

Very Low Water Absorption

A low water absorption rate vastly improves the tiles performance in areas subject to high levels of moisture, such as swimming pools and external areas.

Ideal For

• Shower areas
• Swimming pools
• External Cladding
• Commercial Kitchens

Chemical Resistant

Porcelain tiles are often used in areas subject to high levels of chemical contamination and due to their high resistance to surface contaminant absorption, they have the ability to resist staining or structural damage from chemical spillage.

Ideal For

• Laboratories
• Factories
• Commercial Kitchens

Deep Abrasion Resistance

Deep Abrasion Resistance goes hand in hand with Surface Hardness and it is the tile’s ability to resist surface scratches caused by excessive foot traffic and material handling across the application area.
